It's a BEAUTIFUL day on Saturday.....so we proceeded to go to Deflt. Gareth Wiley (Gary), who works in Rijswijk office, has been so kind to offer to take us out on a "tour" of the city.
Wanted to leave around 10 as Gary said he preferred to rest a bit more on a Sat... but as we were leaving, Haikal nak nasi goreng la pulak... so goreng jap nasi untuk dia... banyak jugak dia makan, which is good coz he will need a lot of energy for the outing... and eventually left almost 11:00am.
We took tram no 1 - that goes straight into Delft but would take about 35 minutes. Suka lah Haikal dapat naik Thomas lama sket....
The minute we're on Delft soil, Gary had kindly taken our photo; Tini & kids in front of the Sat market
This is the City Hall... and opposite building (apa ntah nama dia)
The "side" terraces to the right of the City Hall... banyak kedai2 pottery (that's what Delft id known for)... and one of the lanes...
This is actually the leaning church... but not so lean from this view... and the three of them with a street musician
The Red Horse that's the emblem of Holland.... and the street view of the leaning church. Dining by the streets is just so typical of Europeans.
Does it look a bit more lean to our left?
Gary had kindly treated us to the boat ride (jimay jugak dalam 16 euros!!!) It takes us to the famous places in the heart of Delft.
There's supposed to be the Butter Bridge... one of the oldest or so... and the barter trade house that was built from history.... and one of the famous painters living in one of the smallest canals.... tapi tak dapat ambik gambar....
The boat view that we will be riding into... and relaxing a bit before the ride. Haikal sooooo loves the stroopwaffles (this one is cut smaller with lots of sugar!!! Dentists would just luuurve Haikal, hee hee hee)
Gary the the rests in the boat before we depart.... and Meen and moi! (sama tak?)
Meen selalu muka serious while Haikal is ever ready with his smile!
The leaning church from the boat view.... this other building has got the history but I wasnt paying attention (ooops)
The leaning church from the boat view.... this other building has got the history but I wasnt paying attention (ooops)
This one building has got lots of small glass windows (I think 128 of them?)... and the misty view of the leaning church
Again the church (bukan la nak amik gambo ni banyak2 tapi this is one of THE attraction here... and the side glass tu ada something written on it!
Again the Holland red emblem... and this black & white window is also one of the oldest buidings in town... the color is very typical of Holland? (adalah something)
This emblem ni is of historical one - the East Indies Companies (ingat tak sejarah??!! huh?).. and then the port view of Delft. This very canal links to Rotterdam...
Dah lepas daripada boat ride, ingat nak naik la pulak tram ride with the horses... tapi nak tunggu dalam setengah jam (for a half hour ride).... masa tu baru kul 2 ... nanti lambat lak balik (tak sempat solat Zohor). Lagipun masih puasa... kalau tak, best jugak makan2 kat one of the terraces tu!!!! (tak per, tunggu minggu depan!!! Dah raya!)
Ambik gambar je la.... kat tepi & dalam tram ni
This is what it's called ?Delft Parade Tram. Gary ni rajin lak melayan Haikal nak tengok horse dari dekat!!
Typical of Delft... the pottery!
Meen masih lagi segar bugar.... and Haikal with "the Hero"... William, I think but he was assasinated...
It was quite along day already by the time we all nak balik... almost 2:30 la jugak. So Gary sent us to the nearest tram station "tram halte" to go back to Scheveningen....
